Moving is a full time job. At least, it feels like it.
When you add up all the time planning a move, moving and recovering from the move, the entire process can take up to 40 hours a week. At least it feels like you’re adding a full time job on top of your full time job….on top of all the other things you have to take care of. That’s where a move manager can help.
What’s A Move Manager?
You probably won’t find the definition in Webster’s, but when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. What if you had someone who could help you coordinate all the logistics and details of the move down to packing and unpacking? This person would work closely with you to handle all the little details- so you don’t have to. That’s a move manager.
A person like this is more than just a time saver. A move manager is a Godsend.
Some move managers work for companies in their HR department or agencies, but most work for themselves. Many moving experts focus on helping senior citizens move- either into a different level or care or simply somewhere new.
To better understand what a move manager does, it’s helpful to look at a basic job description.
What Does A Move Manager Do?
It may be an oversimplification, but a move manager’s primary responsibility is to manage every detail of the upcoming move. If you’ve ever moved before (and who hasn’t?), you instantly know that it involves a million little details from start to finish.
This means your move manager acts as the main contact between you and the moving company. He or she manages the scheduling of the move as well as all the preparation. Clearly, this type of position requires:
- Effective communication
- Leadership skills
- Impressive attention to details
- Maintaining a schedule/timetable
- Problem solving skills
- Budgeting abilities
- Multi-tasking skills
The staff at Organized Chick can be your move manager and help you make your next relocation a smooth move. In the meantime, we have some helpful tips to help you get organized for your next move.
